I believe I have come up with a diet breakthrough.  Here are the benefits of my diet:

What qualifies me to discuss dieting? Imagine you're in your early 50s and you've lost 35 pounds and six inches from your waist in a short period of time after struggling for over two decade with your weight. Now you have the same 33 inch waist size you had in high school and only weigh a few pounds more than you did on your high school graduation day.Now, people who haven't seen you in a while are shocked and tell you things like: Wow! You have really lost a lot of weight, and even better, you look 10 years younger!  I am now the center of attention at the parties I go to.  Everyone wants to know how I did it.

In light of this incredible development in my life, I decided to find out why it happened. I was determined to discover the reasons why I lost all that weight and kept it off.  Based upon what I learned, I decided to write an e-book to tell people how I did it, which really is an amazing story that actually happened by accident.

I named my diet after the famous inventor Thomas Edison for two major reasons.  First, his invention of the light bulb changed the world.  My goal is to change the diet world. Second, his failure quote is one of the greatest sayings I have ever heard: "I have not failed.  I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." This reminds me of the number of diets that have probably been invented that have failed.

I was overweight for over 20 years before I lost those 35 pounds!

What is perhaps the most intriguing thing about my weight loss is I was the most unlikely weight loss candidate imaginable. I have been overweight for over 20 years. According to the Federal Governments criteria for overweight and obesity, the BMI or Body Mass Index, a mathematical model designed to asses your weight, I was actually considered obese.  

Think about this, 20 pounds of fat would fill a case of 24 cans and still have enough left over to fill a blender.  Can you image what 35 pounds must look like?   I am sure not a pleasant site. I tried to fight back by eating a diet of low calories and by exercising, but nothing worked.  Only now do I realize what I was doing wrong. Keeping the weight off is considered mission impossible by industry experts.

They claim nearly 100% of people put the weight back on.  But I have managed to keep the weight off for over one year. So I think I have the answer.

You can continue to eat your favorite food.

One of the things people like most about my diet is that no food is off limits.  Unlike every other diet I have ever seen, you won't have to avoid any type of food. You can eat all sorts of fattening food, pasta, cookies, cake and candy.  For example, I have a sweet tooth, and I eat chocolate chip cookies every day.

Not a magic act!

Of course, the Edison Diet is not a magic act.   There are a few simple rules that you need to follow that effectively make this diet possible. I can't image anyone not being able to follow these rules.

How important is it to lose those unwanted pounds and to become healthier?  

Think about that for a moment. The fact of the matter is, in my opinion, health is even more important than money.  Here is why.  If you don't have your health, it is impossible to go out and earn a living.   Consequently, you could argue the point that it is safe to say that health is even more important than money. That being said, of course, the ideal scenario is to have both.

Let's take a moment and have some fun and dream about what it would feel and look like to reach your goal of losing those extra pounds.    For starters, when you wake up in the morning, you will feel physically strong, healthy and have an overall sense of well being.  When you get out of bed you will notice how thin and lean your body is. You will then notice as you start to walk, that you can feel the well-defined muscles in your body.  You will have this powerful feeling of having a tremendous amount of energy. If you are older, you will have the feeling you had when you were younger. How important is it for you to start your day this way?  Does the term priceless accurately sum things up?  I think it does. 

Interestingly enough, I used an unconventional plan to lose those extra 35 pounds.  For example, I didn't go on a traditional diet.  Nor did I use a conventional exercise program based on the advice traditionally professed by today's so called "experts."   I will show you definitely how conventional wisdom is a huge part of the problem why you don't lose the weight that you want to.

What is even more amazing is that I firmly believe you will be able to get the same results I did. Actually, even faster than it took me, because you can benefit by the mistakes I initially made and the knowledge I gained when I lost all of this weight.  Using dieting as an example, you won't have to torture yourself by eating food you don't like, and after the diet, putting the weight back on. Further, this diet will enable you to eat foods that you like and find pleasurable, and will leave you feeling full.

You won't have to kill yourself exercising!

With regard to exercise, this is another part of the Edison Diet that many people like.  The idea that you don't have to kill yourself or spend a large amount of time when you work out is very appealing.  For example, the workout I will show you will include substantially less exercise and more rest, than what the Federal Government and Hollywood trainers recommend which, by the way, is 60 minutes a day.  

My beginner programs averages 15 minutes a day, a few times a week.  In other words, you will get fitter, faster, and stay that way without long boring workouts, which lets face it, aren't very much fun in the first place.  What is even worse, they aren't taking the weight you want off anyway.  Of course, the advanced programs are longer but, on average, still substantially less than 60 minutes a day.

Amazingly enough, while writing this book, I believe I have discovered a solution to the negative effects of aging, to the extent that is possible without a technological breakthrough, by combining several different disciplines, in affect, creating a fountain of youth. What makes this e-book so different?

Interestingly, there are a number of unusual aspects to this e-book.  First, since I am not by training, a writer, scientist, nutritionist, exercise physiologist, psychologist or medical doctor, I relied heavily on experts in the health; diet and exercise professionals who I believe are on the cutting edge in their fields and truly deserve the term "expert" next to their name. 

One of the interesting ideas you will learn is the fact that not all experts are created equal.  Some are great and others are not very helpful. Moreover, they almost always say you just have to do one thing, such as avoid carbohydrates and you will be thin.  If it was that simple, everyone would be thin.

The fact of the matter is that there is not one simple answer.  Rather, a number of areas need to be addressed to solve the problem of being overweight, which is what I have done for you in this e-book.

By the way, have you ever noticed that very often these writers look like they were born with 6 pack abs? It seems to me it must be hard for them to identify with people who have been overweight for a long time.

Why are there so many diet books?

Here is an interesting question:  Why there are so many diet books? Several hundred are published each year and yet, people are heavier today than ever before. Why are the results so dismal?  It took me over 20 years to finally figure this out. I will share them with you in such a way that this question will be comprehensively answered, enabling you to solve your own weight problem. This way you won't have to wait over 20 years like I did.

Yet another problem is information overload in that there is often so much information provided in traditional diet books, makes them difficult to use. To their credit, they do often provide interesting information, but they fail the test of a practical, easy to follow plan that will enable you to lose weight.  It seems to me that the writers act as if it is better to write as much as they can. However, what really counts for you is results.  Less is actually more.  These books need to go on a diet.   

The problem here is that there is no way that that all of that information they write can be put into a tactical plan or a step by step process for you.  A good plan has several elements which include being simple to use.

Interestingly enough, this isn't a traditional diet book because it is very clear to me that diets don't work.  Rather, this is a next generation diet book because it will get you the results you want if you simply follow my suggestions.

Why an outsider was able to solve the diet problem!

There are two main reasons why I am able to be an outsider, or non diet industry expert, and yet develop a diet that works.  First, two of the major components of my diet are based on knowledge I have gained from reading the books of two doctors, whose concepts I have written extensively about.  Second,  I have been very been fortunate to have a number of very smart friends who are medical doctors, PhD's, physical trainers, physical therapists and nutritionists, whose incredible brains I have been able to learn from over the years and gain both knowledge and wisdom.  

If you think about it, a number of the greatest advances ever discovered were discovered by outsiders, and often by accident.  Think of Columbus discovering the new world. These advances typically came about from someone outside an area of their own expertise because they didn't have definite, pre-determined ideas on what can and cannot be done.   

This outsider perspective is what I bring to the table, since I am not a traditional diet expert.   In other words, my strength is not being in the diet business.  I believe this is actually a good thing in light of how dismal the diet industries track record has been regarding its lack of performance or results.  After all, who would want to be associated with an industry that has had such a train wreck of a track record?

It would seem to me that it would stand to reason that an outsider like me, who has a totally different approach than what the current crop of diet experts are saying, makes a lot of sense. Really, what is needed is a simple, easy to follow plan that will work. That doesn't seem to be asking too much does it?

Accordingly, the goal of this e-book is to teach you what I have learned.  In order to do so, I have made this book tactical in that it will spell out specifically everything that I learned, and that needs to be followed on a daily basis.

Another issue to take a look at is the several different ways that you can lose weight other than my approach.  However, I believe a few glaring weaknesses come to the forefront revolving around safety, needless hard work, and cost.  

I have heard of people who lose weight by drinking coffee all day and eating expensive prepackaged meals purchased from the supermarket.  The problem here is a dangerously low amount of calories are consumed each day that will rob your body of muscle mass and important vitamins, and minerals, all of which will slow down your metabolism.  The body goes into what is called the starvation mode. Bear in mind, the Holy Grail of dieting is to have a fast metabolism.  Then we have the hard work variety.  I once spoke with someone who lost 50 pounds. The problem was he had to workout in a gym for 2 hours a day, which he disliked, and then starved himself with his diet for the rest of the day. Lastly, there are people who buy monthly prepackaged meal plans.  They can also be effective, but they are very expensive, costing several hundred dollars a month.  Plus, you are stuck eating their food for the rest of your life because, of course, if you stop eating their food, the weight you lost will come back on in no time.

These programs violate one of my rules which is to ask yourself these two important, yet simple questions: First, is your diet the most fastest, efficient,   most convenient, least costly, and enjoyable diet that can get you the best results? Second, can I live with this diet for the rest of my life?   If the answer to these questions are no's, then you haven't found what you are looking for.
